“With therapeutic support from cannabis, individuals can go deeper within, self-releasing negativity with ease, connecting with the root of suffering, and exploring a higher vibrational consciousness through cannabis-enhanced guided meditation.” – Chioma Nwosu

Chioma Nwosu, a Yoga Alliance-certified yoga and meditation instructor in Los Angeles, teaches for private and corporate clients and health organizations, at elementary schools, and during live events, including We Rise activation and Yoga Expo. Chioma teaches yoga and meditation at Green Tree Yoga & Meditation Foundation in South LA and is a member and online contributor for the Yoga & Body Image Coalition. A former dancer, Chioma enjoys teaching a strong ashtanga-based power vinyasa practice focusing on alignment, breath, and the root and sacral chakras while incorporating elements of dance set to AfroBeat.

As a healer, Chioma works with cannabis as a plant spirit aide during guided meditation. She offers cannabis-friendly yoga for stress-based trauma, massage/stretch therapy, and chakra balancing sessions. Last year she worked with cannabis-friendly yoga instructors Minelli Eustacio-Costa in a cannabis-enhance woman’s empowerment workshop at Radha Yoga in the West Adams Historic District of Los Angeles, CA.

Chioma earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Science from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and continues to study biomedical sciences extensively as she cultivates routes to mindfulness with connection to breath, self-mastery, proper body alignment and connection to the Divine. “The sacral chakra is right above the pubic bone, right below the bellybutton, and it is the center for our sensuality, our personal expression – our grounding, our reproduction,” Chioma explains. “A lot of women are not in tune with that, as I've learned, because of trauma, because they have their insecurities. And a really surefire way to get in tune with the sacral chakra, rid yourself of any blockages, and open that area is dance and movement.”

Chioma, who recently returned from the Peruvian Amazon as a Cosmic Sister Plant Spirit Grant recipient, was awarded a Cosmic Sisters of Cannabis grant in support of her new class, Elevated CannaFlow: Cannabis-Enhanced Vinyasa Flow & Meditation, a powerful vinyasa flow, grounded in breath, that allows students to explore the feeling of spaciousness while moving the body to AfroBeat rhythms. With therapeutic support from cannabis, individuals can go deeper within, self-releasing negativity with ease, connecting with the root of suffering, and exploring a higher vibrational consciousness through cannabis-enhanced guided meditation.

“Cannabis takes the focus out of the insecurity, the oh my God, I'm doing some awkward movement with my body, and it brings the focus back into the breath, back into the body,” Chioma said. “I find that people do that more easily when they use cannabis prior to the class.”

Elevated CannaFlow: Cannabis-Enhanced Vinyasa Flow and Meditation

Developing a consistent yoga practice that includes meditation can have profound positive effects for your holistic wellness as it allows the space for the body to practice stillness, the mind quiets & breath begins to deepen; causing Self awareness to elevate & expand allowing each practitioner to become more familiar with the space of inner peace that dwells within.

In this powerful Vinyasa flow, students explore the feeling of spaciousness while moving the body to AfroBeat rhythms with breath as the grounding factor. With the therapeutic support of this plant medicine, individuals can go deeper within Self releasing negativity with ease, connect with the root of suffering and explore a higher vibrational consciousness through cannabis-enhanced guided meditation.

As an all levels class focused on balancing our yin and yang energy with the use of cannabis to create a sense of comfort and ease, poses are focused on proper body alignment and the connection between movement & breath.
